Amitraz (Mitaban) is used by veterinarians in the treatment of mange namely generalized demodectic mange in dogs.
This is used as Itch relief for dogs. Its a well known drug for pet skin care.
Dog wash by dermal application only. Please consult the veterinarian for further instructions on how to use and follow as advised.
Side effects that may occur :


Itching

Edema

Diarrhea

Vomiting

Convulsions

Hyperexcitability

Increased appetite

Personality change

Increased urination

Skin rash/other skin irritation

Short term sleepiness (in treated animals)

In the event of an overdose, contact the veterinarian or the veterinary emergency room.
Store in a cool dry place, away from heat, moisture, food. Protect from frost.
Inform the veterinarian about your pet(s)history and any other medication that he may be taking before you start a course of this treatment.

Not be used in dogs who are on a course of treatment with MAOIs or are diabetic.

2. Amitraz should not be used on dogs that are pregnant, nursing or are very young/small.

3. Amitraz is also not be used on dogs suffering from diabetes or on MAO medication.

4. Amitraz is not for use in cats.

5. People who are on a course of medication with MAOIs or are diabetic could have a bad reaction to the use of Amitraz if they personally the administer dips to pets.
Complete clipping of the coat is recommended for maximum contact with the dip.

The animal should be stress free for at least 24 hours after treatment.
