The first dose of this medicine should be taken as soon as possible within 72 hours of having unprotected sex. The second dose should be taken 12 hours later. SIDE EFFECTS that may occur while taking this medicine include nausea; dizziness; headache; vomiting; breast tenderness; or heavy, light, or irregular menstrual period or spotting within a few days of taking this medicine. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience spotting instead of your usual period, severe lower stomach pain, or if you miss your menstrual period.
