Enrofloxacin is used to treat skin infections in both dogs and cats.

Baytril (Enrofloxacin) is used to treat a variety of infections, including skin infections, urinary tract infections, respiratory infections and wound infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
Baytril tablets are given to dogs at a dose of 5 – 20 mg/kg, preferably once daily. Consult the veterinarian for how to use baytril for your dog and follow as advised.
The recommended dosage for Baytril for cats is 5mg per kilogram of body weight per day. Consult the veterinarian for how to use baytril for your cat and follow as advised.
In the event of an overdose, contact the veterinarian or the veterinary emergency room.
Store in a cool dry place, away from heat & moisture.
Baytril may interact with other medications. Consult with your veterinarian to determine if other drugs your pet is receiving could interact with enrofloxacin. Such drugs include antacid medications, iron supplements and some stomach protestants.
Enrofloxacin should not be used in animals that are pregnant, nursing or are very young/small.
Baytril should not be administered to puppies. Those between the ages of 4 and 28 weeks are the most susceptible.

Young animals treated with Baytil may develop damage to the cartilage of their joints. Swollen joints and lameness are clinical signs that may be observed.


Baytril should not be used in animals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to the drug.
