First of all I would like to let you know the importance of posture exercises. If our body is aligned in the wrong way it consumes more energy and results in fatigue and weakness. Improper posture also leads to many complications like: varicose veins, or pain in joints and muscles. Because of poor blood circulation many organs can also get impacted. And this applies to men and women equally. Below are the some exercises for men and women; both can try these to overcome bad posture.
• Cobra exercise:
Lie down on your stomach and place your arms beside you. Now raise your head and shoulders off the floor and try squeezing your shoulders together. Your arms also require to be raised up with the thumbs pointing to the ceiling. You need to hold this position for 10 seconds and then you can take 10 seconds rest. Make sure to keep the spine straight throughout the exercise. Do 10 reps thrice in a day.
• Axial trainer:
This is the simplest exercise to make you understand how good posture feels like. Stand up in a perfectly straight way and then imagine your head is getting pulled in the direction of the ceiling as if it has been attached to a balloon. Hold on this position for 2 minutes and repeat it 8 times in a day.
• Shoulder blade compress
Sit on a chair with your hands on your thighs. Take a rest for a while to be comfortable and at ease. Now gradually turn your shoulders towards your back and try to squeeze both the shoulder blades together. This exercise is of the utmost benefit in correcting bad posture in men and women.
Below are a few special exercises for women to correct their posture.
• Retraction of cervix:
Sit straight on the chair and be comfortable with your feet touching the ground. Settle down there for a short time and then pull only your chin in without moving your head upwards or downwards. Repeat this exercise many times in a day to correct the cervical posture.
• Pull in abdomen
Pulling in the abdomen is the most excellent exercise to push in your expanded belly. This is also a very simple exercise. All you need to do is; while inhaling pull in your tummy and while exhaling come back to your normal position. You can do this exercise as many times as you want.
